Mortgage Loan Processor (Moline, IL)

 

Job description

Ruhl Mortgage is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Mortgage Loan Processor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing and managing mortgage loan applications from start to finish, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion.

 

Responsibilities

  • Review mortgage loan applications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Verify borrowers’ financial documents, including income, credit reports, employment history, and assets.
  • Coordinate with loan officers, underwriters, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth loan process.
  • Order property appraisals, title reports, and other necessary documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state mortgage lending regulations.
  • Maintain accurate loan files and records in the loan processing system.
  • Communicate with borrowers to provide updates and request additional documentation as needed.
  • Work to resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the loan process.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent (Mortgage Loan Processor Certification preferred)
  • Minimum of three years mortgage loan processing required
  • Proficiency in loan origination software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of FHA, VA, Conventional, and USDA loans
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

 

Compensation: $45,000+ annually depending on experience.

Mortgage Loan Closer (Moline, IL / Hybrid)

Job description

The Mortgage Loan Closer is responsible for coordinating and finalizing all documentation necessary for the closing of mortgage loans. This includes ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies, as well as federal and state regulations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, analyze, and maintain all file documentation related to loan closing activities. Examples include, but are not limited to, obtaining conditions, reviewing title work, obtaining payoffs, subordination agreements and ordering property location endorsements.
  • Complete data entry to generate closing packages, ensuring adherence to secondary market guidelines and in compliance with federal and state regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure accuracy, organize, review, and analyze documents in the loan file related to closing; work with appropriate departments or third parties to rectify any problems.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for closing activities. This includes serving as a communication touch point with the processing center, loan officers, Closing Agent, and post-closing departments.
  • Accurately calculate all fees due and payable in order to timely request funds for wire through the loan origination system.
  • Work closely with the bank’s settlement agents to coordinate closings, prepare documents, and ensure loans are closed in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Monitor commitments and price expirations to expedite closing and ensure timely receipt of required documentation.
  • Review signed closing packages to ensure accuracy prior to sending file for booking and shipping.
  • Confirm fundings are successful; request return of funds if a closing is canceled.
  • Assist with booking and shipping loans as needed.
  • Assist with compliance, pre- and post-closing related tasks such as HMDA review, loan file audits and other compliance and quality control tasks as needed.
  • Remain abreast of department, corporate, investor and industry guidelines and requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in loan closing. Must have familiarity with laws and regulations and industry practices related to closing and shipping activities.
  • Proficiency in loan origination software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of FHA, VA, Conventional, and USDA loans
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must possess good judgment and the ability to manage confidential information.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to use e-mail, telephone, and other communication tools, as necessary.

 

Pay and Benefits

 

The pay range for this position is $40K/yr - $60K/yr. Will commensurate with experience.
